Police are urgently seeking the public’s help to find a missing elderly woman last seen five days ago.

Maree Jennins, 69, was reported missing last night after she disappeared from her residential complex on Roseberry Ave, Birkenhead, on Auckland’s North Shore on Friday.

Her family are concerned for her welfare after recent comments she made, police said.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Williams said Jennins had no form of transport but had used taxis in the past.

Police have contacted taxi companies throughout the day and believe she may have caught a taxi from Roseberry Ave or elsewhere in the wider Birkenhead area.

“She stayed in a north Auckland motel recently and it is possible she has done the same again, but we continue to be worried for her wellbeing,” Williams said.

Police urged any taxi drivers who may have picked Jennins up on Friday, or accommodation providers to contact them.

Locals who may have seen her in the area in the past few days were also asked to get in touch.

Anyone who sees Jennins is asked to call 111.

Information could also be reported to the 105 non-emergency line. Callers should use the reference number 260728/7173.
